Today marks the start of the 2015 IAM Legislative Conference. The Legislative Action Center has been updated on the website to reflect the issues NFFE-IAM members will be. The issues NFFE-IAM members will be lobbying on this week include:

Giving Federal Employees a Real Pay Adjustment
Seeking Paid Parental Leave for Federal Employees
Protecting Official Time

NFFE Local 2189 Provides Critical Support to IAM Organizing Win
May 8, 2015
It was early 2013 when the phone rang in the NFFE Local 2189 Union office, and on the other end was a URS employee explaining their treacherous working conditions. The employee knew that Local 2189 had hundreds of dues-paying members, and that the Local was incredibly active both on base and in the community. He wanted the same for his co-workers, so he asked Local 2189 Vice President Chris Casteel and Local Stewards to help URS employees form a Union. (Full Story)

Obama Issues Presidential Proclamation for #PSRW
May 5, 2015
On Sunday, President Obama issued a presidential proclamation officially recognizing May 3 through May 9, 2015 as Public Service Recognition Week. In his proclamation, the first of its kind during his presidency, he recognized the important work civil servants accomplish every day and that an unyielding call to service is what drives federal employees to carry out the business of the American people.
