Union Plus Scholarships were introduced in 1992 to help support union members, leaders and families in their pursuit of higher education. To date, Union Plus has awarded more than $3.5 million in educational funding to more than 2,300 active and retired union members, their spouses and dependent children.

Each year Union Plus provides $150,000 in scholarships to members who belong to a union participating in any of the Union Plus programs.

The deadline to apply for a 2014 scholarship is January 31, 2014, 12 p.m. (noon) EST.

Union Plus Scholarship awards, ranging from $500 to $4,000, are granted to students attending a two-year college, four-year college, graduate school or a recognized technical or trade school. Recipients are selected based on academic ability, social awareness, financial need and appreciation of labor.

Union Plus recognizes that higher education is important to working families and a key to improved financial security. Union Plus also offers the following benefits to help union families who are dealing with the high cost of education:

• Discounts of 15 to 60 percent on college and graduate school test preparation courses from The Princeton Review. Discounts are available for classroom, online and private tutoring for the SAT®, ACT®, GMAT®, LSAT®, GRE® and MCAT®. Visit UnionPlus.org/CollegePrep or call 1-888-243-7737.
