The National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE) is proud to announce that Damaris Miller, president of NFFE Local 225 and secretary-treasurer of the NFFE Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Council, has been appointed trustee for NFFE.

In December, NFFE announced that a vacancy for a trustee position had occurred, and accepted applications for the vacancy. In January, Miller was put forth as a nominee for the position, and her appointment was confirmed by NFFE’s National Executive Committee (NEC).

“I am very pleased that Damaris stepped up to serve in this capacity,” said Randy Erwin, NFFE National President. “Having served as a financial officer, she is very well equipped to carry out the duties required of the position. She has also shown professionalism and dedication in every role she has served in this union. The NFFE membership will be very well served by Damaris Miller as trustee.”

Damaris begins her term immediately. She will join National Vice President Mark Davis of NFFE Local 276 (Forest Products Laboratory, Madison, Wis.) and National Vice President Gerald McCarty of NFFE Local 2189 (Red River Army Deport, Texarkana, Texas), who currently serve as trustees and serve on NFFE’s auditing committee.

Damaris, in her usual style, is sure to take on her new role with optimism and enthusiasm.

“I would like to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for being chosen to serve as a trustee,” said Damaris after being informed of her confirmation. “It fills my soul with warmth and love to serve my sisters and brothers in NFFE-IAM.  I am prepared to work hard and build relationships throughout all divisions of NFFE-IAM. I feel we as a union are forging into tumultuous times, but together we can face these challenges to secure our future. Together we will accomplish what we strive to achieve. It’s a new day for NFFE-IAM. Let’s go get it!”
