Last year, GEO employees at Robert A. Deyton Detention Facility in Lovejoy, Georgia ratified a collective bargaining agreement to establish the National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE) as their union representative. The local's supplemental agreement included a four percent pay raise for all employees, including a $10 hourly wage increase for some of the nurses at the facility.

The National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE) is pleased to announce that 2021 was one of the very best organizing years for our union in the past several decades, achieving 6.3% net growth in the twelve-month period ending in December of last year. Further, with the membership gains from 2021 NFFE has fully recovered from membership losses that were suffered as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier this month, the National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE) was invited to join the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and Department of Agriculture (USDA) officials in a focus group to help develop a new occupational series that aims to properly classify wildland firefighters.

As part of NFFE’s ongoing effort to build membership, NFFE is introducing its 2022 NFFE Local Organizing and Recruitment Donation Program.

On Tuesday, NFFE joined the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) during their legislative week at a rally outside the Department of Veterans Administration (VA) headquarters to protest the recently released report from the Asset and Infrastructure Review (AIR) Commission.

Earlier this month, House Education and Labor Committee amended H.R. 2499, the Federal Firefighter Fairness Act, to improve language within the bill to expand presumptive coverage for occupational illnesses for federal wildland and structural firefighters.

Earlier this month, NFFE wildland firefighters met with several high-ranking officials within the Biden Administration to urge the adoption of significant workforce reforms.

Last week, several federal wildland firefighters of the National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE) visited the White House to urge Biden-Harris Administration officials to increase pay for federal employees on the front lines of the wildfire crisis.
