On Veterans Day we honor the military veterans who served to defend the United States and protect the interests of the American people. Our veterans have earned our gratitude through their selfless dedication and bravery, and the United States is a stronger nation because of their service and sacrifice.
Almost a third of the federal workforce are veterans, including thousands of NFFE-IAM members who now serve in a civilian capacity. As the single largest employer of veterans nationwide, the federal government must continue to support veterans’ preference and other benefits veterans earn during their civilian federal government employment. NFFE is proud to protect these benefits every day.
NFFE is extremely honored to have so many veterans in our membership, but we are also proud to represent those who provide essential care for our nation’s veterans through their work at the Department of Veterans Affairs. There is no more critical mission than ensuring America keeps its promise to provide for the health and wellness of those who served in uniform. It is proud NFFE-IAM members who make good on that promise every day.
