A Memorial Day Message from NFFE National President Randy Erwin:

NFFE Brothers and Sisters:

As we gather together with friends and family this Memorial Day, please take a moment to remember and to offer prayers for all of the men and women who lost their lives while in service to the United States of America.  They gave their lives defending our country, and for that we owe them a debt of gratitude that we can never repay.  We honor their sacrifice by working every day to ensure we remain one united nation with liberty and justice for all.

A Memorial Day Message from IAM Int’l President Bob Martinez:

This Memorial Day weekend I hope you are able to enjoy some time with family and friends kicking off the official start of summer.

I know we will also keep in mind that Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for the more than 1 million American soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

The Machinists Union is eternally grateful for these brave men and women who left this Earth fighting for the freedoms we enjoy today. They were mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, friends and neighbors.

We not only owe them a great deal of gratitude, but we owe it to them to strive to be the best version of America possible; the America our founding fathers envisioned us to be. Our country was founded on the grounds of liberty and shaped by immigrants looking to escape tyranny. The U.S. constitution outlines those principles as a birthright for all Americans—not just some.

As a nation, we have not come all this way to let the corporate elite erode the very freedoms we paid for in blood on the battlefield. We must keep up this fight every day, not just for ourselves and our families, but also for those who cannot fight for themselves.

I ask all of you to join me this weekend in remembering our nation’s fallen heroes and honor them by continually working to become a better America—a nation of love, acceptance and mutual respect.
