NFFE-IAM members have access to numerous scholarship opportunities for themselves and their families. Be sure to take advantage of the following scholarship opportunities before their posted deadlines.
Most directly, NFFE-IAM members and their families can apply for a scholarship from the IAM for awards ranging from $1,000 to $2,000. The three scholarship categories are: Do not miss out on the scholarship opportunities available to NFFE-IAM members and their families for a bachelor’s degree, children of an IAM member seeking to attend a vocational or technical school for an associate’s degree or trade specialization, and for IAM members seeking to attend a college/university or vocational/technical school. For further details on the IAM scholarship competition, click here. Note, the deadline to apply for a 2015 IAM Scholarship Award is less than one week away. Applications must be postmarked no later than February 25, 2015 to be considered.
Another scholarship opportunity that NFFE-IAM members and their families can take advantage of is the Federal Employee Education & Assistance Fund (FEEA) scholarship. This year, FEEA’s scholarship application will be partially completed online. The basic application information — student and sponsor contact information, GPA, school, and class status — is entered online and sent directly to FEEA’s scholarship database. Students will still need to send in supporting documents like the essay, recommendation letter, list of awards/extra-curricular activities/community service, transcript, and sponsoring employee’s SF-50, along with a printout of their online submission confirmation email. The application can be found here. The deadline for the FEEA scholarship is March 27, 2015.
