Sept. 17 at the National Federation of Federal Employees’ (NFFE) 52nd convention, there were some four legged attendees: dogs from the Guide Dogs of America / Tender Loving Canines.

Guide Dogs of America / Tender Loving Canines is an organization that “transforms lives through partnerships with service dogs.” Its mission is to breed, raise and train guide dogs for people who are blind or visually impaired and service dogs for both veterans and children with disabilities such as autism.

“While many of us know the pleasure of our family pets, we relish the opportunity to facilitate a meaningful and productive relationship between our clients and their service dog. All of us at GDA | TLC greatly enjoy our work, and we’re grateful for our donors and volunteers’ generous support that changes the lives of so many,” President & Director for Guide Dogs of America, Russell Glitten, wrote on the organization’s website.

Zach Glitten, Manager of Marketing and Outreach, led a speech at the convention and introduced the group of dogs to the crowd. The dogs were crowd pleasers and helped boost an already high morale at the convention.

“You know it just really made them (attendees) happy and brought smiles to people’s faces,” NFFE National President Randy Erwin said.
