Lobby Week 2009, scheduled for May 11th-14th at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on Capitol Hill, promises to be one of the most important lobby weeks in years. With worker-friendly politicians taking over the White House and expanding their margins in both the House and Senate this past November, there are many new opportunities to make federal employees’ agenda a priority. For nearly eight years, there has been no greater chance to exact positive change in the federal workforce than right now.
“Lobby Week is a great opportunity to hold our elected officials accountable for their actions and make sure that our voices are heard,” said NFFE National President Richard N. Brown. “It is one thing for a congressman to support competitive sourcing from hundreds of miles away in Washington, and a whole other experience when standing face-to-face with a federal employee whose job is on the line.”
If you plan to join us next month, please submit your delegate questionnaire to IAM International Headquarters by May 4th. The forms are not mandatory for participation, however they are very useful to those who are organizing the conference. Click here for the delegate questionnaire.
