The National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE) celebrates National Nurses Week in appreciation for the work that nurses do each day from within the NFFE membership and all other nurses across the country. NFFE stands in solidarity with its members who care for our veterans, members of the armed forces, and people in communities located on federal lands who rely on nurses in medical centers and offices for health care and physical wellness.

“I am so proud of the work that our members do as professional nurses,” said NFFE National President Randy Erwin. “They deserve our appreciation and respect not only this week, but each day of the year. The care that nurses provide is critical to health and safety of every community in this country, and we are eternally grateful for their service.”

“The devotion of our nurses during the COVID pandemic and beyond cannot be understated,” continued Erwin. “Throughout this incredibly challenging period, our nurses faced tremendous adversity and suffered loss, including losing coworkers and patients to an unknown and deadly virus. They risked their lives on behalf of the American people every day so that somebody’s parent, child, or loved one would recover and return home healthy. I cannot thank them enough for their selflessness and personal sacrifices.”

“To the nurses within NFFE working at the Departments of Defense, Interior, and Veterans Affairs, thank you for providing essential care to those who need it,” continued Erwin. “You have my commitment that NFFE will always do everything in our power to uplift the voices of nurses and other healthcare employees in the workplace. This union is dedicated to helping you provide the best care possible for your patients while fighting on your behalf for fair pay, reasonable working conditions, and professional opportunities. Thank you for all you do!”
