The National Federation of Federal Employees would like to thank all of the nurses throughout the United States for their dedication and hard work, especially during National Nurses Week.

Across the country, more than 100,000 federal nurses care for our nation’s veterans, active military, and our diverse native populations. It is NFFE’s great privilege to represent several thousands of those dedicated caregivers who work at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Department of Defense (DoD), and Indian Health Service (IHS).

National Nurses Week, celebrated May 6-12, gives us the unique opportunity to recognize and call attention to the tireless and often thankless work that nurses perform every day to keep their patients healthy and well.  These seven days of thanks are not enough, but well deserved by our brothers and sisters who dedicate their lives to ensuring that the American people receive the highest quality care found anywhere in the world.

These nurses make endless contributions to their communities and the impact these individuals have on the lives of their patients is truly immeasurable. On behalf of all the NFFE-IAM members across the country, we want to express our sincere appreciation to our sisters and brothers serving as nurses at the VA, DoD, and IHS, and to all the nursing professionals who make a difference in people’s lives every single day.

Once again, we would like to thank each and every nurse for their continued sacrifice and commitment to serving the American people, which often goes unrecognized. NFFE understands the sincere obligations that these men and women fulfill, all in the name of helping their fellow Americans across the county. Thank you!
