Union membership is not just a club – it’s a movement to secure workers’ rights and dignity in the workplace. NFFE-IAM members proudly carry this Union spirit to work each and every day, making a difference for thousands of federal workers with each passing sunset.
But what opportunities are available to engaged members when you reach the sunset of your career? It turns out, a whole lot! The NFFE-IAM retirees’ program engages retired members on key issues that matter to both annuitants and current employees. Through the program you can attend classes at the IAM’s William W. Winpisinger Center, an annual conference, training sessions, and much more.
To get you started, the IAM will host a Retirees Assistance Program at the Winpisinger Center from October 1-6 of this year. The class will educate participants on geriatric and mental health issues and help them to identify and boost quality of life in your golden years. These courses not only raise awareness of the unique needs of all seniors, but will be an opportunity to ask all the questions you may have about aging and living a healthy life. In November, we will all get together in Las Vegas for the annual IAM Retirees’ Conference. The conference will bring life-long union members from across the United States together for three days of learning and networking. This event is not just a great time to catch up with old friends, but a chance to stand behind the community and show your union pride. The event kicks off at Bally’s Resort on November 19th and ends on the 21st. Sign up by registering here.
Now more than ever, it is important to stay informed on the issues and put Union solidarity into action. We hope you take advantage of these great programs throughout the year to keep the union ties strong. Sign up for your NFFE-IAM retiree membership today!
