Dear Brothers and Sisters,
On Veterans Day, we honor on the immense sacrifices made by the men and women who proudly served in our nation’s military. This special day allows us to take a break from work to celebrate our heroes and offer them our gratitude for their commitment to defending America and our way of life.
I am so proud that thousands of NFFE-IAM members are Veterans and have dedicated their lives after leaving the military to continue serving the American public. With that in mind, NFFE strives to always put the interest of our members and veterans at the forefront of everything we do. We advocate for Veterans preference, adequate funding for Veterans healthcare, and the necessary resources and staffing at the Department of Veterans Affairs so that our Veterans receive the highest possible level of care.
Last year, we were proud to announce through our affiliation with the International Association of Machinists a new Veteran’s Services Program. This program has helped many veteran members of our union to understand and apply for earned benefits to which they are entitled as veterans. We are honored to offer this service to all NFFE-IAM veterans and encourage you to use the services to see what benefits are available to you.
NFFE takes great pride in representing the dedicated employees of the Department of Veterans Affairs, who deliver outstanding professional medical care to our nation’s veterans. We recognize the profound significance of upholding America’s commitment to ensuring the health and well-being of those who served in uniform. Our heartfelt appreciation goes to our VA members for their unwavering dedication in fulfilling this promise each and every day.
