The IAM’s William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center has announced its lineup of 2026 Federal Employee training programs, offering federal sector members a full slate of educational opportunities to strengthen their skills in representation, bargaining, leadership and more.

The Government Employees Department will host several core classes throughout the year at the Hollywood, Maryland campus, including the Federal Employees Program, Federal Employees Advanced Program and Federal Employees Collective Bargaining Program. Each course is designed to prepare current and aspiring union representatives for the complex challenges of federal sector labor relations and build on leadership skills.

The Federal Employees Program will take place May 31–June 5 2026, focusing on key areas such as collective bargaining, the Hatch Act, legislative action, Unfair Labor Practices and prohibited personnel practices. The weeklong program provides a strong foundation for those new to representing federal employees.

The Federal Employees Advanced Program, scheduled for April 26–May 1 2026, will build on that foundation, offering a deeper look into Federal Labor Relations Authority (FLRA) procedures, negotiability appeals and other advanced aspects of federal labor law.

A third program, the Federal Employees Collective Bargaining Program, will be held March 1–6 2026, with training that focuses on negotiating ground rules, contract and midterm bargaining as well as the legal framework essentials.

In addition to these department-specific classes, the Winpisinger Center’s 2026 calendar features a full range of leadership development courses throughout the year such as Leadership I, II, Advanced Leadership and Train-the-Trainer sessions, along with online offerings that will be regularly posted throughout the year.

Locals are encouraged to review the full schedule and submit enrollments early to secure a spot. The complete 2026 calendar and enrollment materials are available at w3iam.org. The IAM encourages anyone interested and in need of guidance to reach out with questions
