Washington, D.C. – Today, The National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE-IAM) endorses the Restoring Collective Bargaining in the VA Act (H.R. 6015/S. 3174), bipartisan legislation which would restore collective bargaining rights for hundreds of thousands of employees serving at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This bill was introduced in response to President Trump’s Executive Order, Exclusions from Federal Labor-Management Relations Programs, which stripped over one million federal employees of their right to form and join a union.

“NFFE strongly supports the Restoring Collective Bargaining in the VA Act, and urges its swift passage,” said NFFE National President Randy Erwin. “This legislation is essential to restoring collective bargaining rights for hundreds of thousands of VA employees—many of them veterans—so they can speak out about fraud, waste, abuse, or management failures without fear of retaliation.”

“At a time when outside interests increasingly pressure the VA to prioritize private profit over patient care, these protections are more critical than ever,” continued Erwin. “Collective bargaining is not just about supporting employees; it ensures they have the confidence and security to hold management accountable to the promises we make to veterans every day. Thank you to Representative Delia C. Ramirez and Senators Richard Blumenthal and Lisa Murkowski for your leadership in supporting veterans’ healthcare and upholding the rights of federal workers.”
