Washington, D.C. – Today, National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE) President Randy Erwin released the following statement in response to President Biden declining to accept the nomination to run for office this election cycle:

“President Biden has had an incredible lifelong career serving his country. In his time as Senator, Vice President, and President, he has fought tirelessly to improve our country and our democracy. President Biden has been the most pro-union and pro-federal employee Commander in Chief in history, and he has delivered on his promises to the hundreds of thousands of federal employees that NFFE represents.

“From Day One in office, President Biden immediately rescinded anti-worker Executive Orders and policies at federal agencies implemented by the former administration. He restored Labor-Management Forums, the Federal Labor Relations Authority, and promoted union organizing and worker empowerment across the federal government. He ensured that the office of Personnel Management passed regulations to protect the civil service from political corruption. He significantly raised pay for federal wildland firefighters and established a higher minimum wage for all federal employees. At the direction of President Biden’s leadership, federal agencies recovered from the COVID-19 pandemic, and delivered on critical missions to serve the American people.

“Thank you to President Biden for his commitment to working people and federal employees. NFFE looks forward to working with the President for the remainder of his time in office, and we are committed to ensuring that his pro-union agenda is advanced after this election cycle.”
