Washington, D.C. – Today, the National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE-IAM) is responding to the decision by the Trump Administration and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to end collective bargaining for Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employees.
“The Trump Administration continues to attack federal workers, this time stripping TSA employees of their collective bargaining rights and unilaterally ending their union contract,” said NFFE National President Randy Erwin. “This is another attack on veterans, as a significant number go on to serve their country as TSA workers after completing military service.”
“This move by President Trump and DHS is yet another attempt to demoralize the civil service,” continued Erwin. “We know that Project 2025 calls for the privatization of government services and it is clear the President is following that playbook. Sadly, after 9/11, we understood that airport security must be a function performed by the government with strict regulations and oversight. We cannot let airport security go back to a private company with poor service and no oversight from Congress. The safety of Americans is every TSA worker’s top priority. President Trump is making America less safe with this action.”
