Washington, D.C. – Today, Randy Erwin, National President of the National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE) issued the following statement regarding the 2024 Elections:

“It is very unfortunate for working people, especially federal employees, that pro-labor candidates did not fair well in yesterday’s elections. With Donald Trump leading our country once again, our union is anticipating attacks on the civil service similar to those during the first Trump Administration, as well as those outlined in Project 2025.

“NFFE, alongside our coalition of federal sector unions, is prepared to fight against all attempts to dismantle the civil service. We believe that merit and competency – not loyalty to the president – should take precedent in hiring and retaining a skilled workforce that carries out critical services on behalf of the American people.

“With that being said, NFFE takes pride in working across the aisle on behalf of our members. We will make every effort to work collaboratively with both the White House and leaders in Congress, regardless of party affiliation.

“The wellbeing of our members is paramount. NFFE will be at the forefront of protecting the rights and negotiated contracts of federal workers. The next four years will be crucial to safeguarding the civil service and American democracy. Buckle up – it’s going to be a bumpy ride.”
