Yesterday, NFFE sent a letter to Congress urging the previous authors from last Congress to reintroduce the VA Employee Fairness Act of 2021. The bill would guarantee full collective bargaining rights for all clinicians working in the VA, allowing them to improve the VA’s ability to provide the highest standards of care for our veterans.

This week in Washington, DC, NFFE National President Randy Erwin attended a ceremony at the White House where President Joe Biden officially nominated Julie Su to be the next Secretary of Labor. Following the announcement Erwin spoke briefly with Biden about federal employees and the pro-union agenda of the White House.

NFFE encourages veterans to apply for benefits through the IAM Veterans Services Department, which can help veterans with any and all benefits that they wish to seek out — these services will be extended to both members and their families.

On Tuesday this week, local NFFE members and headquarters staff took to Capitol Hill to rally in support of the Federal Adjustment of Income Rates (FAIR) Act. NFFE National President Randy Erwin also gave a speech at the rally alongside several members of Congress. Watch the full video now.

NFFE is urging Congress to reinstate a federal tax deduction for workers’ union dues. This would come in the form of a bipartisan bill entitled the Tax Fairness for Workers Act.

Yesterday, NFFE National President Randy Erwin was appointed by U.S. Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh to serve as a member of the Federal Advisory Council on Occupational Safety and Health (FACOSH), an advisory group that helps plan, develop, and organize federal health and safety programs and initiatives.
