The communications landscape has changed rapidly over the past decade. Without a doubt, one of the most influential shifts has been the emergence of social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Among the more than 1 billion regular social media users across the world are NFFE members, BUEs, and a wide community of union brothers and sisters. As unionists, it is more important now than ever that we embrace these technologies and build them into the very fabric of our Union.
That is why we are proud to share with you this quick, three-page guide to starting your own Local Facebook page. Using this guide, you can go from nothing to a fully functional Local Facebook page in less than 30 minutes. It will take you step by step, explaining how to create and maintain an active and effective Facebook presence.
“This is a great tool for all of the NFFE leaders out there looking to reach members on a different level,” said NFFE National Communications Director Cory Bythrow. “It’s free, it’s easy, and – unlike more conventional communications platforms – it’s actually a lot of fun.”
Take a look at the NFFE National Facebook page to get a better idea of what social media can do for your Local. If you need further assistance in setting up your Facebook page, contact Bythrow at cbythrow@nffe.org.
