Today, Randy Erwin, National President of the National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE), sent a letter to members of the U.S. House of Representatives urging lawmakers to put differences aside and reach an agreement to keep the federal government funded and operational before the start of the new fiscal year on October 1st.

This week, the National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE) sent letters to the Senate, House, and USDA leadership reinforcing support for the Wildland Firefighter Paycheck Protection Act (WFPPA).

The 2024 IAM Scholarship Competition will open on October 1, 2023.

Two NFFE family members, Emily Phillips and Jessica Montgomery, have been awarded scholarships from the Federal Employee Education and Assistance Fund (FEEA) to assist in pursuing higher education this Fall.

Last week, NFFE participated in the IAM Unity and Growth Conference in San Diego, California.

After nearly eight years leading the Machinists Union, IAM International President Robert Martinez Jr. has announced that he will retire, effective Jan. 1, 2024. IAM Resident General Vice President Brian Bryant will succeed Martinez as the IAM’s next international president. 

This week NFFE received notice from the FLRA that the Forest Service violated the Work Schedules Act with the unilateral decision to institute 5/8 work schedules without giving NFFE the opportunity to bargain over the policy change.
