The National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE) kicked off it’s 52nd National Convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Monday. Delegates from across the country from agencies throughout the federal government gathered to hear from an incredible slate of speakers in the labor movement.

Machinists Union International President Brian Bryant discussed the excellent growth among both the IAM and NFFE, leading to the IAM being the top organizing union within the AFL-CIO over the past five years.

IAM National Political and Legislative Director Hasan Solomon rallied delegates with an inspiring speech on the importance of political action among the NFFE membership.

AFL-CIO President Liz Schuler spoke to delegates about the secret weapon in the upcoming election that is quickly approaching: organized labor. Union members in swing states have an incredible opportunity to sway the election in favor of pro-labor candidates.

The convention’s esteemed speakers also included Bernie Burnham, President of the Minnesota AFL-CIO, David Holway President of the National Association of Government Employees (NAGE), Matt Biggs, President of the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE), and Nicole Fears, IAM Director of the Human Rights Department.
