After garnering co-sponsorship from a majority of the House of Representatives, Speaker Johnson refused to bring PAWA to the House floor, despite overwhelming support.

The legislation will now advance to the House floor for a vote.

This legislation is essential to restoring collective bargaining rights for hundreds of thousands of VA employees—many of them veterans—so they can speak out about fraud, waste, abuse, or management failures without fear of retaliation.

We are encouraged by the reopening of the government and strongly urge Congress to fulfill its responsibilities and provide back pay for all workers.
