Last month, President Biden formally raised the pay of federal civilian employees via executive order, starting with the first full pay period of this year. Government-wide, employees received an increase of 2.2% in basic pay, in addition to an average 0.5% raise in locality pay for General Schedule employees.

Hughes Technical Center (WJHTC).

Last week, the Biden-Harris Administration published its “Government-wide Strategic Plan to Advance Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) in the Federal Workforce.” The DEIA Plan provides guidance for implementing the Executive Order and illustrates steps that agencies can take to improve DEIA in their workplaces.

Of significance for NFFE, the PMA’s highest priority is empowering and organizing federal employees, including promoting employee engagement and worker’s rights.

Last week, NFFE-IAM announced the addition of nearly 900 new members to our union from GEO facilities in California and Georgia. After ratifying their collective bargaining agreement, workers are proud to unionize and ready to improve their workplaces.

Earlier this month, the National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE-IAM) welcomed 895 new union members, as corrections employees of the GEO Group voted to ratify a newly established collective bargaining agreement granting union representation.

The IAMAW Grand Lodge has announced a new per capita tax rate for Local Lodges for 2022, raising NFFE member dues by $1.54 per pay period starting next year. Minimum dues payments for 2021 were set at $28.28 and will now be $29.82, as detailed in this letter from NFFE National Secretary-Treasurer Dave Stamey.
