Convention 2020 News: Update on Bylaws and Resolutions Procedure for NFFE’s 51st National Convention

Convention Update

During our virtual convention day on October 5, 2020, the Convention dealt with a limited agenda, focusing on business necessary for the conducting of the NFFE National Officer Elections. At the end of the day on October 5, the Convention was adjourned until such time as the balance of the convention could be safely rescheduled to be held in person. A decision on the issue of when the balance of the Convention can be safely rescheduled will be made by the National Executive Committee (NEC) at some point in the future once the pandemic subsides.

The primary business to be conducted when the balance of the Convention is held will be the consideration of any resolutions and proposed amendments to the NFFE Bylaws. The NEC and Bylaws Committee have determined that an additional opportunity to submit new proposed bylaw amendments and resolutions to the Bylaws Committee will be provided in advance of the convention. We will keep you advised on timeframes and processes once a date for the in-person portion of the Convention has been set.  In the interim, you are encouraged to review the bylaws and consider any changes that you would like to make.  The NFFE Bylaws can be found at https://nffe.org/constitution/ (you must be logged in to access).

If you have questions about proposing changes to bylaws or making resolutions, you may direct those questions to convention2020@nffe.org.
