NFFE-IAM Local 273 represents some 1,700 Army civilian employees across various commands at Fort Sill, just north of Lawton, OK. The local has a proud, longstanding history of supporting and fighting for fair treatment, quality working conditions, and favorable legislation for workers across the installation.

Following the local’s relocation to a new office, John Roche, NFFE-IAM Local 273’s chief steward was interviewed by Marie Pihulic of the Fort Sill Tribune. During their conversation, John provides a glimpse into a few of the mechanisms the union uses to defend employees on the job, explains how the union and management work collaboratively to achieve the overall mission of the base, and lists a few of the cost-savings benefits that union membership provides.

Fort Sill employees in need of assistance and looking to join the union are encouraged to visit NFFE-IAM Local 273, now located at Building 2870 Craig Road.
