On Veterans Day we honor the military veterans who served to defend the United States and protect the interests of the American people. Our veterans have earned our gratitude through their selfless dedication and bravery, and the United States is a stronger nation because of their service and sacrifice.

NFFE is asking FAA employees and New Jerseyans to send a letter thanking their Senators and Representatives for continuing to stand in opposition to a breakup of the William J. Hughes Technical Center.

Late Friday evening, the U.S. House of Representatives passed President Biden’s signature infrastructure package, appropriating $1.2 trillion to repair and enhance the nation’s transportation, energy, and water systems, among other broad improvements. The bill also includes new resources to protect the country from wildfires, allocating over $3 billion to revamp the federal wildfire workforce.

Last week, the National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE) and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM), joined by the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), penned a letter to FAA Administrator Steve Dickson to demand the agency halt plans to break up the William J. Hughes Technical Center (WJHTC) in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey.

On Wednesday, members of the National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE) were invited to join Vice President Kamala Harris and Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh at a White House roundtable to promote worker organizing and collective bargaining within the federal workforce. 

Over the last several months, NFFE Local leaders throughout the country, often with the assistance NFFE national business representatives, headquarters staff, and NFFE Council leaders, have been focused on organizing and increasing membership in their Locals, and experiencing great success.

The National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE) is closely monitoring the situation on Capitol Hill regarding government funding, which is set to expire Thursday at midnight. NFFE has been in contact with congressional leadership, requesting that a clean Continuing Resolution (CR) is passed quickly, preferably today.
