Today, the National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE) is praising the Biden Administration, particularly Vice President Kamala Harris and Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh, the co-chairs of the White House Task Force on Worker Organizing and Empowerment. Through this Task Force, the Administration announced new guidelines today that will encourage more federal workers to join unions and to encourage collective bargaining in the federal sector.

Today, the U.S. Congress passed a Continuing Resolution (CR) to avert a lapse in government funding. The funding was set to expire tonight at midnight, but the CR passed today, once signed by President Biden, eliminates the possibility of a government shutdown starting tonight. The bill will keep the federal government funded through December 3rd, 2021.

Today, the National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE) praised the passing of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for fiscal year 2022. The NDAA passed in the U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday, and now NFFE looks to the Senate to do the same. The NDAA is an important annual legislative opportunity to deliver much needed resources to federal civil servants across the country.
