Earlier this month, NFFE wildland firefighters met with several high-ranking officials within the Biden Administration to urge the adoption of significant workforce reforms.

Last week, several federal wildland firefighters of the National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE) visited the White House to urge Biden-Harris Administration officials to increase pay for federal employees on the front lines of the wildfire crisis.

Last week, a group of NFFE wildland firefighters from around the country visited Washington, DC to speak with lawmakers from across the political spectrum to rally support for the Tim Hart Wildland Firefighter Classification and Pay Parity Act (H.R. 5631), also known as Tim’s Act.

Today, the National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE) applauds the New Jersey Delegation, particularly Representative Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ), for their leadership in opposing the Federal Aviation Administration plan to reorganize the William J. Hughes Technical Center.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of former NFFE National Secretary-Treasurer, John M. Paolino, who lost his lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease in recent days.

Last week, during NFFE Executive Director Steve Lenkart’s testimony before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, Government Operations Subcommittee Chairman Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) recognized the union for its work in advocating for federal wildland firefighters.

This week, President Joe Biden wrote a letter to the federal workforce thanking them for their dedication and service to the country ahead of his State of the Union Address.

This year, for Black History Month, the IAM is highlighting some of our current history makers within the organization. All this month, IAM will be running stories on current Black activists in the IAM. Lisa G. Foust joined the National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE-IAM Federal District 1) 22 years ago. She was the first Black woman to serve as a NFFE-IAM National Vice President.

In January, NFFE Local 1998 President Lee Wentz and NFFE National President Randy Erwin met with Secretary of State Antony Blinken to discuss labor-management relations at the State Department and to provide input on the Department’s goals for the new year. This was a welcome opportunity, as members of NFFE Local 1998, who work at Passport offices across the country, have been pushing for modernization of their workplaces for many years.
